How To Get Married In Paradise

I still cannot believe that it’s over already.

In March, Tobi and me started well packed and with high expectations to wonderful La Digue, Seychelles.

We were looking forward to almost two weeks of vacation, including a wonderful project—producing a promotion video for Torsten Dickmann, THE specialist for outstanding, wonderful, special, personal, intimate, and spectacular wedding photography on the Seychelles. Try Google on “Hochzeit Seychellen” (stands for ‘wedding Seychelles’ in German) and you will find him!

In 2011 when planning our honeymoon, I first saw his web site, my little heart made an extra beat, and thus we knew where to spend our honeymoon.

As you might already know, this was a wonderful time. During honeymoon, we took all our photos on ourselves. On one hand due to lack of budget, but also as—thanks to Dirk—we were equipped with lots of photography equipment. For us, this was an advantage, we had the opportunity to spend our honeymoon in privacy and intimate togetherness.

But I continued to wistfully look at Torsten’s pictures, commented them and eventually started to talk to him, until we came up to the topic of a promotion video.

Roughly nine months later, we were waiting at the check-in queue, completely equipped with wedding dress and all, and full of pleasant anticipation

Although our flights were without worries, our baggage spent a little extra time in Abu Dhabi (almost got a heart attack!), but half a day later, a wonderful island welcame us with blue skies, turquoise seas, colorful flowers, ripe and juicy fruit, exotic smell, singing birds, and wonderful beaches and bays right next to the green rainforest.

Our first day we simply spent relaxing, in the evening of the second day, Torsten and his cameraman Markus Schneeberger arrived. (The latter by the way also shooting magnificient, soul-touching wedding photography and being available als photographer and camera operator in Austria and wordwide.) Together we spent a culinary evening at the buffet of Island Lodge in ‘downtown’ La Passe.

This evening was followed by several days with filming, photo shooting, pouring rainfall, desperation, fun and excitement. After all, Tobi and me had the chance to repeat our “Yes” to each other on the most beautiful beach of the world, Anse Source D’Argent.

Simply watch the video to see the results!

Besides our activity during the shooting and filming, Tobi and me went on a day-trip to the smaller islands in the surrounding, Curieuse Island and the Sister Islands, Coco & Felicite.

We visited a tortoise breeding station, watched giant tortoises in the wild and were even able to pet them, saw the Coco de Mer palm tree, and finally saw a great shark in the Laraie Bay. Snorkeling close to Coco, we came very close to a sea turtle. This was our first encounter with this animal and a true magical moment, having this creature breathing fresh air on the surface as close as one feet in front of me. For me, time stopped in this very moment, full of peace surrounded by glistening water.

But also corals and fish were wonderful to look at and, other than on the shores of La Digue, there was no surf, so the water was crystal clear.

Pretty exhausted, but at least not hungry, thanks to the lunch on the catamaran Catalina, we returned to La Dige and went to bed very early, as we had planned to perform a sunrise shooting at Grand Anse and Petit Anse the next morning.

We resided, by the way, in our honeymoon hotel, the Patatran Village, which provided cordial and hearty service and very good food.

We also tried the L’Ocean restaurant close by, which excelled with great meals and quick and friendly service.

If someone doesn’t want to spend too much on food: The take away in La Passe, close to the harbour, is a real meal-deal. Good food, very very low prices, combined with familiar service. And don’t forget to buy banana chips and island-style crisps!

Now I’m sitting here, sorting through our photos and waiting for our luggage (which actually gets it’s lost day of vacation). We had a wonderful trip and I’m looking forward to seeing the photos made by Torsten, which I will of course present to you.

Have a wonderful week!

xx – S.

xx -S.

You can practice this technique by kicking the ball in the air and then using any legal part of your body to help you gain control of the soccer ball.

You should spend the entire game following the ball back and forth and always trying to be in an ideal spot to receive the ball.

Keep the ball for as long as possible by shielding it with your entire body.

Don’t second guess the coaches. If there are lots of people in the center of the field, it makes it harder to play in that area.

To get the most out of your Casino, use it as a storage device. You can use your Casino to store all sorts of files with the help of readily available software. Aside from the obvious music files, you can store pictures, documents and more. The best advantage to this is the fact that you always have access to those files wherever you go.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said „You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.“
She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this
is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
